The long-delayed Northern Gateway hits new hurdle as the Federal Court of Appeal says government failed to sufficiently consult First Nations in pipeline’s path. By Zahra Hirji Canada’s Federal Court of Appeal revoked the permits for an Enbridge pipeline to carry tar sands crude to the British Columbia coast, ruling that government officials had failed to sufficiently consult the First Nations people who would be impacted by the project before approving it.
